The superwise is the name of our service that takes care of monitoring, remembering, checking and, in short, looking after the smart products you use.
What is superwise?
The superwise is a comprehensive service we offer for monitoring and analysing the energy chain. While the underlying sensors such as i.Sense or i.Cee modules enable monitoring, superwise stands for the all-round service package offered.
When components are used in mechanical engineering, maintenance intervals must be taken into account, components should be replaced at the end of their service life and if faults occur, timely notification can prevent expensive downtime. The superwise service can take care of all this for you.
What does the superwise service offer me?
The superwise offer includes:
- Installation and set-up: igus integrates the monitoring systems into existing systems.
- Data evaluation: igus continuously analyses the status data of the energy chain and provides insights.
- Maintenance planning: Based on the collected data, recommendations are made for optimised maintenance and the replacement of components.
- Remote monitoring: As an option, igus can also monitor the status data in real time and take action in the event of problems.
The aim of superwise is to relieve customers of as much work as possible with a supported system and at the same time optimise the uptime of their machines.

There are different methods to determine the remaining service life of your e-chain®. Which one suits you best?
Statistical service life assessment
Number of cycles/day, speed, acceleration, ambient conditions.
These fundamental features are included in the Basic service.
Adaptive service life expectancy
Sensor-based recording of the movement profile.
This feature is included in the Silver service.
Dynamic service life assessment
The movement profile and wear condition are recorded by sensors.
This basis is included in the Gold and Platinum service.

With the superwise basic service, we give you access to the superwise portal.
There you can view the recommended replacement time for your energy chain. We base this statement on the information and data you provide by using statistically determined values.
In addition, we offer you the service of informing you of inspection dates in good time.
We use details such as the number of cycles per day, speed, acceleration, fill weight and ambient conditions to calculate the expected service life. With these specifications, you can create time-controlled maintenance plans.
The basic version provides you with:
- An overview of the smart plastics components in use (shown on the dashboard)
- Maintenance management via the dashboard
- Saving of the respective installation date
- Information on the recommended replacement time based on statistical values
- Next-service reminder
- Sensors for condition monitoring as an option (to avoid total damage in the event of a crash)

... Precisely know the status of your energy chain
With the superwise silver service, you can supplement your energy chain with our i.Sense modules and the ComBox. These systems determine an exact movement profile of your energy chain and send it to the superwise portal.
This makes a precise statement on the recommended replacement time for your energy chain and corresponding maintenance recommendations.
With the help of the i.Sense sensors, the number of cycles, speed, acceleration and any anomalies that occur are recorded and transmitted to the superwise portal, where a graphical display is created.
The silver version provides you with:
- All advantages of the basic version
- Adaptive replacement recommendation based on the actual movement profile
- Customised maintenance schedules based on use
- Identification of anomalies and defined follow-up measures
- Proactive contact from igus® if action is required

What does this do for me?

Unnoticed, the situation will escalate until the chain breaks. The machine comes to a standstill! A replacement chain must be procured as quickly as possible.
