What are chainflex cables for motion?

Our cables fulfil all currently valid ROHS-II and REACH requirements as well as every electromagnetic compatibility standard. They are certified according to UL, DNV, EAC, CTP and CE and are also approved and certified for use in systems according to EtherCAT, CC-Link, CC-Link IE Field, PROFIBUS, PROFINET and Interbus.

A wide range of cable types with different jacket materials ensures high reliability in energy chains. igus chainflex cables prove themselves in various applications with considerable speeds and accelerations, long travels and the most adverse environmental conditions.

What is the difference between the cables?

What are concealed cables?
Concealed cables are rarely seen. They are protected from unfavourable surroundings. The application areas are primarily restricted to seabeds, masts (where they function as so-called overhead cables) or underground applications. In contrast to electrical engineering, the term is becoming increasingly popular in communication and information technology.

What are exposed cables?
In contrast to concealed cables, we encounter exposed cables much more frequently in everyday life. Like concealed cables, these (usually multi-core) cables are also used for energy or data transfer. In addition to high-voltage cables as well-known and visible cable types, cables for connecting TVs to games consoles or for charging a mobile phone are common everyday examples.
