Using the CF880 in practice
A control panel for a saw or other woodworking machine always sounds like a simple application. In principle, it is, but reliability is of paramount importance here because it influences all machine functions. Radii are often large, and in the area of wood or other building materials, the CF880's PVC jacket with its good abrasion properties for avoiding dry dust performs very well. Such systems are often installed worldwide and therefore require not only a reliable service life but also UL approval.

Using the CF881 in practice
Where stones used to be processed with other stones in manufacturing technology, today they are processed by machine tools on industrial production lines. Sawing and milling machines, gang saws or block saws are often used in stone processing. The control cables used in the energy chain, which are located in the application, are exposed to fine dust, vibration, stone and tool fragments. It is also a rather dry environment. Cables with a PVC outer jacket are therefore best suited for use in stone processing, as PVC is a highly abrasion-resistant and bending-resistant material. The CF881 control cable is the optimum choice, as the PVC outer jacket enables it to withstand the existing environmental influences and is a favourable alternative to PUR cables, which are not necessary for such dry energy chain applications.

Using the CF5 in practice
The CF5 control cable family is available in a huge number of core/cross section combinations. Indoor cranes very often use 1.5mm and 2.5mm cross sections to supply buttons, limit switches, motors, or even simple lamps with energy. The long travels in the hall, which can be more than 80m, are demanding. The short pitch length and cores wound in bundles promote a long service life. But contamination from dust and exhaust gases also affects the cables in the area of the hall roof, where the abrasion-resistant, oil-resistant outer jacket performs well.

Use of the CF891 in practice
The aim of the test was to determine the service life of the chainflex control cable. The CF891 must be able to reliably withstand continuous movement, for example in machine tools or processing machines. In addition, use in such machines often means that the cable comes into contact with oils. In terms of oil resistance, the outer jacket of the CF891, iguPUR, is particularly noteworthy. This jacket material was specially developed by igus for machine tools. This outer jacket in combination with a tested service life of 14.5 million strokes makes this control cable a reliable choice for your machine.

Use of the CF9 in practice
Sewage treatment plants may not look very sophisticated at first glance, as there is often enough space to plan an energy supply system with generous dimensions in modern plants. But even with sufficient space, the cables installed in these systems have to withstand adverse weather conditions such as frost, rain and the sun's UV rays. And ideally, these systems should then require as little maintenance as possible despite 24/7 operation. It helps that the TPE outer jacket of the CF9 is particularly resistant to both temperatures as low as -35°C and UV rays. Even over long distances of well over 100 metres, which can be achieved with systems of this type, the cable maintains the entire promised service life thanks to the gusset-filling extrusion and cores wound in bundles.

Use of the CF9 in practice
The test assessed the chainflex cable service life at extremely low temperatures. Systems in outdoor applications need cold-resistant cables. It is precisely the low temperatures that affect the material – specifically, the outer jacket material. They occur at such locations as ports where cables are continuously exposed to harsh environmental conditions. Applications exposed to seawater, large temperature differences, and precipitation require cables that are robust, weatherproof, and UV-resistant.

Use of the CF10 in practice
A typical area of application for this control cable is in automated storage and order picking systems. Reliable energy and signal transmission plays a central role, especially in pharmacies, which are increasingly relying on automated warehouses. It enables orders to be processed efficiently and the required medicines to be made available quickly.
The CF10.25.12 proves its worth here thanks to its specially developed TPE outer jacket and optimised design. The robust jacket protects the cable from mechanical load. At the same time, the special stranding of the cores prevents possible core breaks and minimises wear even with high cycle times.
Thanks to these specifications, the control cable offers a reliable solution for highly mobile applications such as those required for grippers in automated systems. The long service life and high load capacity ensure smooth operation and minimise unplanned downtimes.

Use of the CF77.UL.D in practice
6-axis robots are now an industry standard. The versatile vending machines are also already fully integrated in automotive production. Whether welding, gluing, laser cutting or simply gripping is required, the robots turn and move fully automatically everywhere. It is therefore helpful if the cable for sensors, grippers, motors and much more is just as flexible! The CF77.UL.D is available both as an sensor cable and up to cross sections of 6mm² for controlling motors. Ideal for torsion applications with +/- 180° per metre of cable length, but can also be used on long linear travels, for example in a 7th axis. Thanks to the notched PUR outer jacket, the cable is also durable when things get a bit rough or oil is involved.

Use of the CF98.PLUS in practice
One area of application for the CF98.PLUS is medical technology. Here, for example, the focus is on systems for automated sample preparation in the laboratory or MRI devices. Due to the compact design of such systems, there is often little installation space available, which poses the challenge of limited space and the associated tight bend radii in the machines. Especially during sample preparation, there is a continuous movement with a high number of cycles, which the cable is exposed to and must withstand.
The CF98.PLUS was specially developed for applications with extremely small bend radii. Thanks to its robust TPE outer jacket, it easily withstands the high loads and numerous cycles that occur in such operating conditions.
