Even in today's over-technologised and online times, it has its place under the sun. The curved drylin® W rail from igus® was used for the offline configurator. The desired configuration can be created very quickly by simply turning it.

Problem

The Czech company ARTEO CZ. s.r.o. wanted to create a configurator for the Geneva 2019 showroom so that interested parties could easily configure the vehicles on site. The company's aim was to create an offline configurator instead of an online configurator. ARTEO was looking for a system in which the rings could be rotated. It was important that the rings had small dimensions, variability and were lubrication- and maintenance-free. The offline configurator also needed to enable smooth and noiseless movements.

Solution

ARTEO relies on the curved drylin® W rail from igus® to ensure that the offline configurator functions smoothly and without lubrication or maintenance. Each independent rotating ring is an optional parameter of the vehicle. This includes, for example, the choice of body colour, the material and colour of the seats or the interior trim. Thanks to the curved drylin® W rail, the offline configurator can be easily rotated and the desired configuration can be created. The company says that the curved drylin® W rails have made this possible. The small dimensions of the pledger make it possible to minimise the size and therefore the weight of the rings. The sliding elements ensure smooth and easy rotation.
