Tensile test with energy chain in oil

How do energy chains behave in oil? To answer this question from a customer, igus® tested the behaviour of the e-chain® B15 series in combination with five specified oils in its own test laboratory. The energy chains were run continuously over a period of 30 days and sprayed daily with the liquids to be tested.

The subsequent tensile test with the e-chain® specially tested for this customer made it clear that despite the long-term exposure to these special oils, a weakening of max. 11 % is to be expected.
