Selective laser sintering material: iglidur® I6-PL
The iglidur l6 material  developed  for laser sintering was specifically intended for use as a worm wheel and for safe food contact. The tests in the igus® test laboratory resulted in a longer service life than for conventional ones - e.g. POM milled finished gears. This greatly increases the flexibility in the design of wear-stressed components, since no tools are necessary due to the laser sintering process and special parts can be produced efficiently with no minimum order quantity. Furthermore, iglidur I6 is very well suited for snap connections due to the higher elongation at break.
